A Bill for an Act to amend the Parliamentary Proceedings Broadcasting Act 1946

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Proceedings Broadcasting Amendment Act 2002.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3 Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendment of the Parliamentary Proceedings Broadcasting Act 1946

1 Subsection 7(1)

After “his” (wherever occurring), insert “or her”.

2 Subsections 7(1) and (2)

After “he” (wherever occurring), insert “or she”.

3 Section 8

After “he”, insert “or she”.

4 Section 9

Omit “Chairman and a Vice-Chairman”, substitute “Chair and a Vice-Chair”.

5 Section 10

Omit “Chairman” (wherever occurring), substitute “Chair”.

6 Paragraph 10(b)

Omit “Vice-Chairman” (wherever occurring), substitute “Vice-Chair”.

7 Paragraph 10(b)

After “his”, insert “or her”.

8 Subsections 13A(2), (2A) and (3)

Omit “Chairman or Vice-Chairman” (wherever occurring), substitute “Chair or Vice-Chair”.
